Serving Grundy County for over 30 years.

Corleones Italian Restaurant opened in the Fall of 1982 in the charming small town of Morris, Illinois. Since then, The Claire family has been serving classic Italian dishes to their community without ever wavering from their original mission. Working with the same suppliers since day one, and never changing their recipes. Because of this, they’ve been a local pillar for almost 4 decades.

With a rustic, casual feel, keeping some of the original bones of their building, Corleones pays homage to our towns history and character. Corleones caters to in-town regulars, and is the first stop for those who have grown up, and moved away.

Corleone’s Italian Restaurant was started by Phil and Jayne Claire, and Phil’s brother Paul. Phil and Jayne had worked at Avanti’s while they attended Illinois State University. After graduation, they asked Guido Zeller, (owner of Avanti’s and all around great guy), if they could try their hand at the restaurant business in their hometown. He said it was a great idea. Paul joined them. And Corleone’s opened there months later at 208 Liberty Street. With the help of friends and family, we survived and prospered there for nine years. We had an opportunity to buy our building from Mr. and Mrs. Dan Callahan (two more great people) and moved to our present location in 1991. In 1993, we welcomed Henry Quevedo onto our management team. Through all of these years, we have never changed our recipes, and we have been extremely lucky to always have great employees. The single greatest reason for our success has always been our customers. It has been our pleasure to serve them and watch them grow up. Some of our customers have been with us since we opened. Now, they bring their children, and their children have brought theirs. We think that is pretty great. We are very proud to be a little part of making Morris, Illinois such a great place to live.
